The dates that matter

November 1

Enrollment opens

The first day you can enroll or switch plans for the coming year.

December 15

Last day for January 1 coverage

Enroll after this and coverage generally starts February 1 instead.

January 15

Enrollment closes

After this you need a qualifying life change to enroll at all.

Outside those dates, a recent life change may still let you enroll.
